The outlook for stocks and the economy today is far more bearish than it was a year ago, before the Federal Reserve announced that they would take steps to tighten policy far earlier than expected.
Currently, the US economy’s trajectory is murky as the Fed aggressively raises interest rates in an attempt to bring down four-decade high inflation. Recession fears have soared since the start of the year, and the Fed has said they will remain hawkish despite inflation appearing to be on its way down.
